Dollhouse

Dollhouse
9/8 Central Fridays on Fox.

So this review will be like walking on egg shells as I don’t want hate mail from all the Whedonites out there. The show is a sci-fi series created by Joss Whedon and starring Eliza Dushku. It debuted February 2009 on Fox.

Eliza plays a character named Echo and is one of the Dolls/Actives. The Dolls are people whose personalities and complete existence have been wiped so that they can be programmed as different people for assignments also called engagements. The Dolls are hired out for these engagements, Eliza’s character has been everything from a housewife to a thief. There are many Dolls; so far we know of Alpha, Echo, Mallory, Sierra, and Victor. Echo, Sierra, and Victor are all currently in the Dollhouse.Dollhouse

Now the Dollhouse is the facility that houses the Actives and is in LA and part of the Rossum Corp. When in the Dollhouse the Dolls are mind wiped to a very innocent state almost like a child. Also in the Dollhouse are “Handlers”, who monitor the Dolls when on engagements. Now this all is considered illegal activity and is under constant trouble from a federal agent who has heard rumors of the Dollhouse. The kicker here being that the agent knows Mallory and doesn’t know that she is a doll.

There have been internet rumors that the show is going to be pulled after this season. Lets cross our fingers and hope not, overall I really like the show and hope it sticks around. A special comic-con DVD set was sold recently, but the rest of us can look forward to the box set in July.
