Next TV Season – Genre that made the cut

When I have more time I’ll do another post about new, upcoming genre shows.
But now let’s see what made the cut and what didn’t.

ABC is keeping Lost.  Sure.  Cupid was canceled – again.

CBS may or may not be renewing Ghost Whisperer.

CW is keeping Smallville and Supernatural, no final verdict on Reaper yet.

FOX continues to be the best place for genre.  Sadly Sarah Conner Chronicles was axed, and I thought it was just hitting it’s stride, but Dollhouse and Fringe were renewed.  Remember this is the channel that brought us X-Files, Sliders and Firefly to name a few.  Not strictly genre, but one of my favorite shows, Bones got renewed for 2 seasons!  Woot!

NBC is keeping Heroes (and Chuck, which I guess would be genre) with an interesting scheduling twist.  Like Lost they’ll run full season (back to back episodes with no breaks), but unlike ABC (yet like what I saw the WB do a few times back in the day) when one series season ends (Heroes) the next will start (Chuck.)

I’m not sure what’s up with Sci-Fi.  I’ll get back to you.

I may have missed shows that people watch and know are genre.  Let me know in comments!

(no, 24 doesn’t qualify beyond being sheer-fantasy in so-much-as it ain’t reality)
