I liked KOTOR2 quite a bit, in spite of it's flaws, but the ending is really a shame. Particularly because, in my opinion, the writing for most of the game was a big step up from the first. I enjoyed the first game, a lot, but by the end of it I didn't really care about any of the supporting characters, just the broader story. The characters in the second installment were so much more dynamic and interesting, and the dialog kept me captivated throughout, especially since there was a point to bantering with your NPC's. Those characters deserved a better conclusion. I'd probably even be willing to cough up the cash for a deluxe version of the game, if they were to piece it all back together.
