Scoops – Mass Effect, Jane Foster, and Green Lantern!

Reader Patrick has been busy sending me scoops -  here’s a sampling:

Need I say more than I WANT THIS GAME NOW! (or, at least, I want it once I’ve finished Dragon Age: Origins!)

Natalie Portman is set to be Jane Foster to Star Trek’s Kirk’s Father as Thor -

Honestly, I think Natalie Portman’s a fine actress.  However she tends to be unpredictable in genre pieces.  She was pretty good, IMO, in V for Vendetta but horribly lousy in Star Wars.

While I’m sure she’ll do fine, I think Marvel would be better off spending her salary on a talented unknown and on a good script.

None other than fan favorite (and mine as well) Ryan Reynolds cast to play Green Lantern -

After seeing Reynolds play Hannibal King in Blade: Trinity I wanted him to play Deadpool.  Then I saw the annoyingly pointless and superficial X-Men Origins: Wolverine and now I want no more Deadpool in film.

Reynolds is an interesting choice as Hal Jordan.  I’m reserving judgment, but I’m actually pretty sure that I’m more concerned about the 007 director helming this feature than Ryan Reynolds bringing too much inappropriate humor to Green Lantern.

Better than Jack Black, at least!
