Who knows if it will really happen, but it has a director, screenplay “written”, and some leads cast.
Apparently the villain will be Hector Hammond, seen here fighting Hal Jordan.

Casting includes Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan (seen here as Deadpool)

and Blake Lively as Carol Ferris (Gossip Girls actress, no I don’t know her either)

Supposedly this will hit theaters summer of next year. We’ll see.

I’m pretty surprised at this one, especially since Reynolds is already signed on to play Deadpool. I think he did great on the scenes in the Wolverine movie where they let him play as Wade Wilson, despite that they turned Deadpool into at the end. He’s a pretty entertaining guy, and at the very least he’s in good shape, but I’m not sure if he’s right for Deadpool.
I think he’s exactly the actor I’d cast as Wade Wilson / Deadpool.
But Hal Jordan? Hal isn’t the joking type. Maybe Reynolds can play a more serious, more conservative, more militaristic guy – but he’s damn good at the sarcastic funny guys so I think this may be a waste of his talents.
Better than Jack Black, at least.
Sorry, bit of a typo. I meant to say what you said: that I don’t think he’s quite right for Hal Jordan.
