Farewell to David Mills

We don’t usually do obituaries here at InGenre, but seeing as I’ve been writing about the series Homicide: Life on the Streets recently, it seems appropriate to mark the passing of one of the show’s key writers, David Mills.

Mill’s was a long time friend and frequent collaborator of David Simon, who essentially credits Mill’s for bringing him into the television industry. Their last collaboration, the New Orleans based Treme premiers Sunday, April 11th.

Mill’s passing is a staggering loss, particularly for the medium he helped revolutionize. There’s only one proper way to say good-bye:

Michael Re is a freelance writer of both fiction and non-fiction, and story-telling has long been the proverbial monkey on his back. For the last few years, he’s worked as a critic of comics, film, and television, all the while toiling away at his own creative pursuits in an effort to always put his money where his mouth is. His most noteworthy accomplishments are as a song-writer, having co-written and performed on nearly a dozen records. He also watches entirely too much television, and is very glad for an opportunity to justify doing so. Michael is also an acting editor at In Genre.
