Movie adaptations of video games have been hit-or-miss, but Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, based on the 2003 video game of the same name, has gotten some positive buzz, and it’s made by the same team that did Pirates of the Caribbean, so I think it’s worth checking out.
Now as long as the inevitable sequel, Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, doesn’t involve the Prince becoming all angsty in a convoluted non-linear time travel story, I think it’ll be okay.
Furthermore, if you’re a fan of the video game series, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands — a sort of interquel set between Sands of Time and Warrior Within — has been recently released to good reviews, saying the gameplay and style are very similar to the first game with some cool new moves thrown in (I haven’t played it yet, but rest assured I’ll be getting my copy soon).
