MBR – Agartha’s Castaway

I am going to be starting to post fairly regular book reviews on Amazon of independent books I’m reading and figured I’d share the reviews here as well.

 Agartha’s Castaway – Chrissy Peebles

Seventeen year old Casey Smith is on vacation with her parents, and she’s invited along her two best friends. Jack is intelligent yet athletic, a very serious person always looking out for her like a brother, while Mike is a handsome and famous surfer, a pure adrenaline junkie who’s something of a player. As skilled and talented as her two male friends may be, Casey is a girl who easily holds her own amongst them.

A mysterious storm comes out of nowhere and ruins their fishing trip, sinking their vessel and separating the teens from the adults. Casey, Jack and Mike find themselves washed up on a strange shore. Quickly they discover that being shipwrecked is the least of their worries as strange creatures, unearthly aircraft and hidden romantic tensions threaten them at every turn!

What is the nature of the place they have wound up in? How can three teenagers survive giant monsters and hazardous terrain? And will Casey tell one of her friends of her long-held feelings even though her other friend is holding a torch for her?

Author Chrissy Peebles weaves a gripping tale of adventure and romance set in a fantastic backdrop. With strong, vivid descriptions, compelling characters and a great sense of pacing, the story will pick you right up and easily carry you through to the very end. While the best audience is probably young adult this book can be easily enjoyed by anyone.

I cannot wait for the next book in the series!
