Check It Out – Feargus Urquhart, Obsidian and South Park

I’m going to be following news about this game pretty closely.

Game Informer has a video interview with the CEO of Obsidian about the South Park RPG.

Feargus Urquhart loves RPGs. As the lead designer on Fallout 2 and one of the founders of RPG-centric Obsidian Entertainment, Urquhart and the rest of the team are not approaching South Park: The Game as a simple licensed title. A lot of thought is going into the challenge of creating a light-hearted experience that’s enjoyable for fans of the show but also appeals to fans of Obsidian’s deep RPG heritage.

Alpha Protocol and Fallout: New Vegas are fighting to become my all-time favorite RPG (with some hefty competition from Icewind Dale and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines (RPG historians will probably notice a pattern here…)), and while I’ve yet to have Dungeon Siege III draw me in (not a Diablo/Dungeon Siege fan, though) Obsidian is my go-to company for “excited, do want” games.

Trey and Matt pitching the game and directly involved just makes it all the more appealing!
