ME3 Extended Cut Out Tuesday

BioWare announced today that the long-anticipated Extended Cut will be available for free download this coming Tuesday, June 26. A response to angry fan reaction over a lackluster ending that provided little to no closure and raised more questions than it answered (the most prominent two being “What were they smoking” and “Remember when BioWare made good games”), the ending will feature brand-new cutscenes and voice work that explore how Shepard’s choices will affect the future of the galaxy and provide some of that sweet, sweet resolution. I sure hope the extended ending puts a rest to the uproar — Mass Effect 3 is a fantastic game except for those last 5 minutes, which have unfortunately dwarfed any and all intelligent conversation about the rest of the game. So once the extended ending is out and we’ve put away our pitchforks and torches, can we talk about the genophage? Because I really want to talk about the genophage.

Benton Sartore has been reading comic books off and on since his age was in single digits, and playing RPGs since college. He enjoys a variety of comic books, TV shows, and movies, and he's a little too proud of his DVD collection. And for some stupid reason, he can't let go of Star Wars, no matter how much dumb stuff the franchise does. Benton is also an acting editor at In Genre.
